Following an intensive search, the Sumter County Development Authority announced the appointment of Rusty Warner as its new Executive Director during its July board meeting, with a reception held last Wednesday, which also included his wife, Susan.

Warner was presented with a 'Welcome' wench symbolizing future hard work, by Authority Chairman Hall. "

I am most happy to have joined the Sumter team, and for the trust everyone has placed in me," said Warner. "Economic development is viewed in many ways. It is not just an increase to the job count-or welcoming a new indusrtry---it is also looking at our 'bones,' deciding the right balance between steadiness and growth, and appreciating the additional inc=vestment of an existing industry."

Warner comes to Sumter County with more than twelve years of economic development experience and an extensive real estate background.
